About Karen
Hi! My name is Dr. Karen Palmer. It's likely that, if you are reading this, you are one of my students. I live in the little town of Camp Verde in an old farmhouse with my husband, four children, dog, and lots and lots of chickens.
I graduated from NAU with my MA in Rhetoric and Composition in May of 2000, and I earned my PhD in Women's Studies from Trinity Theological Seminary in July of 2015. I have been teaching college level composition all over the state of Arizona since January of 1999. I have taught both freshman level composition and upper division composition, rhetoric, and grammar at NAU, ASU, GCU, GCC, Yavapai College, and CCC. I am currently teaching full-time for Yavapai College.
In addition to teaching, I am a published author of two books. License to Play was published in the spring of 2009, and License to Dream (co-written by Kristi Lee and Judy O'Higgins) was published in November of 2010. I have been building a successful organization with an amazing company called SendOutCards since January of 2008.
In my spare time, you will find me spending time in my garden, baking up something yummy for my kids, or reading a good book.
